Amber Fort – Jaipur

Jag Mandir Palace – Udaipur

The picture perfect Jag Mandir Palace is located on the southern island of Lake Pichola. It is a must visit tourist attraction when in Udaipur. It is a three storeyed structure built in yellow sandstone and marble. The palace was built in the early 17th century by Maharana Karan Singh.

Hawa Mahal – Jaipur

Hawa Mahal literally translates to ‘Palace of Winds’. It is the unique identity of Jaipur and a standing example of the fine architecture of the Mughal era. It was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh and is made up of red and pink sandstone.
Hawa Mahal was built so that the royal ladies of the family could witness the hustle bustle of the streets without being seen.

Lake Palace – Udaipur

The pristine Lake Palace of Udaipur was built by Maharana Jagat Singh between 1743- 74. It was the summer palace of Maharana and was initially known as the Jag Niwas Palace. Spread over an expansive area of 4 acres, it is one of the finest luxury hotels of India.

The famous Bollywood film ‘Yeh Jawwani Hai Deewani’ was also shot at Lake Palace, Udaipur.

City Palace – Jaipur

Mehrangarh Fort – Jodhpur

It is situated on a 150 m high hill. It was founded by Rao Jodha in 1459. There are several palaces inside the fort that are known for their intricate carvings and detailed architecture. Gadsisar Lake – Jaisalmer

Jaigarh Fort – Jaipur

Yet another example of rich heritage of the region is the mighty Jaigarh Fort of Jaipur. It is also known as the ‘Victory Fort’. It overlooks Amber Fort and Maota Lake, which is situated near Amber Fort itself. The fort was built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in 1726 to protect the Amber Fort and its palace complex and was named after him.
The highlight of the fort is the cannon – ‘Jaivana’ which is world’s largest cannon on wheels. 

Kumbalgarh Fort – Kumbalgarh

Think of Rajputana grandeur and you cannot miss one name – Kumbhalgarh Fort. It is a mighty Mewar fortress that has the second largest wall after Great Wall of China. The fort is built on a hilltop at a height of 1100 meters above sea level and its perimeter wall extends over 36 km. It was built in the 15th century by Maharana Kumbha.
In the evening the fort is lit up and is a sight not to be missed.

Nakki Lake – Mount Abu

Nakki Lake is an integral part of Mount Abu. It is the largest manmade lake situated at a height of 11,000 meters. The serene backdrop of the lakes makes it a beautiful sight. Considering the picture perfect background, Nakki Lake is also known as ‘Love Lake’ of Mount Abu. The main attraction of the lake is boating and fountains.

Junagarh Fort – Bikaner

An integral part of tourism in Bikaner is the beautiful Junagarh Fort. It was built by Raja Rai Singh in between 1588 – 1593 AD. The city of Bikaner is spread around the fort itself. Chittorgarh Fort – Chittorgarh

Umaid Bhawan Palace – Jodhpur

Taragarh Fort- Bundi

Best Time to Visit Rajasthan

April-June: Only Mount Abu as other places will have extreme temperatures

October-November: Best time to visit any part of Rajasthan as temperatures cool down after the monsoons
