Health Bodies

State Health Societies are created to fulfill the goal of providing health benefits to the inhabitants under National Rural Health Mission. Rajasthan is one of the specially focused 18 states with weak public health indicators.

Government of Rajasthan has established Rajasthan State Health Society which functions under Department of Health & Family Welfare. National Rural Health Mission is running several schemes like Janani Suraksha Yojna (JSY) for the pregnant women. When the delivery is under society financial aid is provided for pre and post care. The scheme also aims at reducing maternal and infant mortality rate.

The society monitors the Directorate, District Societies, NGOs etc. and keeps a check on the proper management of funds received from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, execution of contracts and monitoring their performance.

Training, meetings, conferences, review of policy, workshops and inter-State exchange visits etc. are organized by Rajasthan Health society to draw inputs by strengthening the execution of NRHM in the State.
