Government owned telecom bigwig Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. formed in October, 2000, is World's 7th largest Telecommunications Company. In Rajasthan it is providing quite a big range of telecom services, i.e.

Today, BSNL Rajasthan has about 24 SSAs, 2327 Telephone Exchanges, 1466788 line basic landline telephone connections, 288957 WLL connections, 2702497GSM connections, 147180 Broadband connections, 1375 IPTV connections with 293 Customer Service Centers all across the state.

Although many other private telecom operators are functional in the state but none has as wide approach as it has.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) is continuously putting efforts and money to expand its GSM and broadband capacity in Rajasthan. The company is also investing for rolling out WiMax enabled common service centres (CSCs) in the rural areas.

Currently, 1,600 out of 2,300 exchanges are broadband capable.
