Sisodiya Rani ka Bagh

Situated on the Jaipur-Agra road is the lush green Sisodiya Rani ka Bagh and Palace. The park was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1779 in Jaipur. It is believed that the park was built for Maharaja’s wife, Queen Sisodiya. The picturesque palace was a favorite getaway for the royalties during the 17th and 18th century. The palace has tiered multi-level gardens with beautiful fountains and water ways.

Visiting Hours – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, every day
Entry Fee – 20/- for both Indian as well as international guests

Kanak Valley

Situated near Amber Fort, Kanak Valley is a popular picnic spot and tourist attraction of the Pink City. Maharaja Jai Singh, the founder of Jaipur was mesmerized by the beauty of this valley and was instantly reminded of Vrindavan – the place where Lord Krishna spent his childhood. Even today the locals call the park Kanak Vrindavan Valley.

The entire valley is adorned with intricate carved archways, marble domes and fountains all over. The royal processions come to Kanak Valley on special occasions and festivals.

Hidden between two Aravalli ranges – the Guru Shikhar and Achal Garh, Peace Park is located just 8 km from the main Brahmkumaris center in Mount Abu. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions of the city.

Do yoga or just take a stroll among the lush green grass, and you will be refreshed and rejuvenated at Peace Park. It is a picture perfect setting. The beautiful park is spread over an area of about 8 acres. A short video presentation highlighting the concepts and techniques of Rajyoga is showed at the park. Adorned with swings, the park is a delight for kids. A unique Rock garden greets you upon entrance and the boundary wall has rose, bougainvillea and raat ki rani creepers all over.

Umaid Gardens

Spread over a sprawling 82 acres, Umaid gardens are the most popular gardens of Jodhpur city. The park is named after Maharaja Umaid Singh who built the park. Inside the garden complex are aesthetically placed fountains, museum, a library and a zoo as well. It is a good recreational place and is equally loved by children and adults. A 'Walk-in Aviary' in the zoo was constructed in the garden in 1978. The aviary is home to different types of birds, ducks, Australian and African parrots, and rabbits. It is encouraging to see that all the birds and animals are kept in their natural environment. Teaching people about the harmony of nature and man, Umaid Garden is the perfect place for spending some quality time with family and friends.

Mandore Gardens

Mandore Gardens are situated on the outskirts of Jodhpur in a small town called Mandore. The Mehrangarh Fort and Mandore Garden are the talk about the glorious past of the region. The garden has numerous shrines and temples spread all over. The ruins indicate the presence of a huge temple in the garden complex.

The cenotaphs of Maharaja Shri Jaswant Singh and Maharaja Shri Ajit Singh are kept here. Mandore Garden consists of beautiful cenotaphs and buildings that are set amidst verdant lawns. Considering the perfect blend of magnificent architecture and nature, Mandore Garden is a photographer’s delight.

Gulab Bagh

Commonly known as Rose Garden, Gulab Bagh is a popular tourist attraction of Udaipur city. Gulab Bagh is also known as Sajjan Niwas Garden after the name of Maharana Sajjan Singh who had built the park in the 1850s. It is the largest garden of the city and is spread over 100 acres. It is famous for the innumerable variety of roses. The garden is strategically located in the heart of the city, near Pichola Lake. The flower bed arrangements are the highlight of the park. The garden complex houses a library – Saraswati Bhawan Library and a museum. The collection at the museum includes antiques, curios, royal household items and other interesting relics from the past. Gulab Bagh is easily accessible from the city by local transport, taxis or auto rickshaws.

Parks and gardens in Udaipur

Saheliyon ki Bari is a famous tourist destination of the city. The English translation means ‘Garden of the maids’. The picturesque gardens are situated on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake. Famous for the lush green lawns, intricate marble work and fountains, the park is loved by domestic as well as international tourists. The park was built way back in the 18th century by Maharana Sangram Singh. He gifted the garden to his queen. The queen with her companions and maids used to visit the garden for a stroll or just spend some time amidst nature. That’s where the park got its name from – Saheliyon ki Bari.
The garden complex also has a museum, which is home to a huge collection of royal households. Take a local cab or rickshaw to reach Saheliyon ki Bari

Nehru Park

Situated in the middle of the Fateh Sagar Lake, Nehru Park is another highlight of Udaipur sightseeing. Tourists have to take a boat ride to reach this beautiful park. Lush green lawns, fountains and ponds are the main attractions of Nehru Park. Away from the chaos of the city and hidden amidst nature, Nehru Park is an ideal place to be. There is a small restaurant in the garden premises which serves delicious snacks and food. And of course, the Aravalli scenery view is complimentary!
